Emily Fox King (b. 1982)

Education:

  • MFA, Brigham Young University, 2010

  • BA, Western Washington University, 2007

Emily Fox King is an award-winning oil painter recognized for her vibrant and richly textured compositions. Her process is instinctive, built without sketches and guided by movement, intuition, and material. Through florals and intimate table scenes, she explores femininity, motherhood, and domestic life, while reflecting on community, connection, and the layered experience of being human. Raised in Washington, Emily spent her childhood riding horses and filling her school books with sketches of them. She later earned a BA in painting, followed by an MFA in printmaking and drawing.

Emily's art has been exhibited widely in Utah and across the U.S., in locations including New York, California, Florida, Arizona, and Nevada. Her pieces are part of several prestigious collections, such as the Springville Museum of Art and the Chris and Janae Baird Collection of Contemporary Mormon Art. She also collaborates with national retailers like Anthropologie and HomeGoods.

Beyond her art practice, Emily is a dedicated educator at the university level. She has extensive experience teaching foundational art courses at Weber State University, where she helps students discover their creative potential.
